Greg Gutfeld Shares Emotional Story of His French Bulldog Struggling with New Baby

Greg Gutfeld, the popular Fox News host, recently opened up about an unexpected family struggle following the birth of his first child, Mira. While his return to television after a six-week absence was met with celebration, Gutfeld shared that his beloved French Bulldog, Gus, has been experiencing emotional distress since losing his status as the center of attention.

After weeks away from Gutfeld! and The Five, Greg Gutfeld returned to Fox News, where his co-hosts surprised him with gifts and a celebratory cake in honor of his new fatherhood. While adjusting to his new role, the 60-year-old commentator admitted he has yet to change a diaper, jokingly attributing it to always being absent when baby Mira needs one.

Gutfeld and his wife, Elena Moussa, welcomed their daughter in December, with co-host Dana Perino making the announcement on-air. Reading a statement from Gutfeld, Perino shared, “It is with great joy that my wife Elena and I have welcomed a baby girl into the world. Mira is healthy with a real set of lungs.”

While Gutfeld expressed excitement about fatherhood, he also revealed that Gus, his cherished French Bulldog, has been having a hard time adjusting to the new baby. During his return to The Five, Gutfeld received a special dog bandana for Gus that read “Big Brother,” but the reality of the situation has been far from celebratory for the pup.

Gutfeld disclosed, “Oh, Gus – I gotta say, that’s the challenge of having a French Bulldog when you have a kid. The dog is going through severe emotional pain, no longer being the king of the Gutfeld household.”

He went on to share that Gus has been acting out in protest, saying, “So, he does these ritual pees. He peed in front of the baby’s room for no reason.”

While Gus’ emotional turmoil has added a layer of unexpected stress, Gutfeld remains hopeful that his furry companion will eventually adjust to his new sibling.

Gutfeld’s Social Media Updates Delight Fans

Despite the challenges of new parenthood, Gutfeld has continued engaging with fans on social media. On Christmas Day, he posted an adorable photo of Gus lounging on the couch, humorously noting, “As usual, he got me nothing for Christmas. Although he left something that looks like coal in the middle of the living room.”

Later that day, he shared a video of Gus enjoying a snowy walk, playfully narrating, “Oh, he’s happy. Look at him go up the hill. This is good, probably good for me too.” While Gus appeared joyful, Gutfeld himself admitted to feeling under the weather, captioning the post, “Upstate sick as a dog. Not this dog. He’s doing fine.”

Fans Express Support for Gutfeld and His Growing Family

Gutfeld’s updates have sparked an outpouring of support from fans, many expressing excitement over his new baby while also sympathizing with Gus’ adjustment struggles. One fan commented, “Congratulations to you, Elena, & Gus on your baby. So very happy for you all. But, I know I’m not the only one who misses you terribly. We need you to come back, please!”

Another wrote, “Congratulations! Happy, healthy new year. Please come back really soon. The show is just not the same without you.”

As Gutfeld continues to navigate the joys and challenges of fatherhood, fans eagerly anticipate more updates on baby Mira and how Gus adapts to his new role as a big brother. With time, love, and patience, the family hopes to find balance and harmony in this new chapter of their lives.
