Aniston debuted her first children’s book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life, and launched The Clydeo Fund. She is also leveraging her social media to share stories of dogs in desperate need of rescue.
Jennifer Aniston’s Commitment to Rescue Animals
The Friends star actively engages in animal rescue efforts. She often shares heartwarming stories of shelter dogs on her Instagram account. However, Aniston admits that the emotional toll of seeing so many animals in need can be overwhelming.
“It’s so hard, but it helps; they get seen and rescued,” Aniston shared exclusively with PEOPLE. “It’s almost impossible to keep up with it. But I’m constantly updated that so-and-so got rescued. So all I keep thinking is, if one gets out, that’s all I care about.”
The Launch of Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life and The Clydeo Fund
Aniston recently launched her first children’s book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life. This is in addition to her social media efforts. The book was illustrated by Bruno Jacob. It was inspired by one of Aniston’s rescue dogs, Clyde. It aims to encourage children to explore their interests beyond screens and technology.
“They’re so focused on these phones and just disappear into this void of scrolling,” Aniston explained. “They don’t really spend time being stimulated by the world and figuring out what they want to do.”
Aniston’s Instagram first introduced the animated character of Clydeo in 2021. Now, Clydeo stars in a four-book children’s series. Aniston shared, “When they came to me with the idea, it was obvious. I decided to make it about something I fully love and adore. That is my rescue animals.”
The Clydeo Fund: Supporting Animal Shelters in Need
Aniston’s passion for animal rescue extends beyond storytelling. Through The Clydeo Fund, she is raising funds. This support aids animal shelters struggling with upkeep and care for abandoned pets. The fund helps organizations rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for animals.
“We can help these animals. We can raise awareness. We can also assist the shelters that desperately need upkeep because they’re falling apart,” Aniston explained. “They can’t keep up. And all you see is that we’re euthanizing innocent, beautiful, perfectly fine two-year-old dogs, or a puppy, or a litter. I can’t. It’s too much. It’s too many.”
By encouraging even small donations, Aniston hopes to inspire her followers to support animal shelters worldwide. “We can create awareness and inspire people to just throw in a dollar. It all adds up,” she says.
