Police released an image of a person of interest in the killing
A ‘person of interest’ has been identified by the NYPD, who have released CCTV footage of a man that is wanted for questioning in the murder of the CEO Brian Thompson.
This comes after CEO Brian Thompson was assassinated on a Manhattan street yesterday morning.
Thompson was the CEO of the biggest health conglomerate in the US, UnitedHealthcare.
Based on revenue, it is the fourth largest company in the US on the Fortune500 list, which is released each year.
Thompson was shot three times on his way to the company’s annual investor conference in the early morning and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The shooter is still on the loose despite a state-wide manhunt. However the NYPD have now released an image of the ‘person of interest’.
They posted the image with the below caption: “UPDATE: Below are photos of a person of interest wanted for questioning regarding the Midtown Manhattan homicide on Dec. 4.
“This does not appear to be a random act of violence; all indications are that it was a premeditated, targeted attack.
“The full investigative efforts of the NYPD are continuing, and we are asking for the public’s help—if you have any information about this case, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

“There is a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.”
The update and reward are the latest attempt by police to find the shooter responsible for the killing.
According to ABC news, the bullet casings from the three shots fired had the words ‘deny’, ‘defend’, and ‘depose’.
This has been pointed as having a great deal of similarity to the book ‘Delay Deny Defend: Why Insurance Companies Don’t Pay Claims and What You Can Do About It’ by Rutgers Law Professor Jay M Feinman.
Mr Feinman did not comment when contacted by the LADbible group.
Industry analysis found that United Healthcare were the worst denier of healthcare claims of US insurance companies, denying 32 percent of claims.
Mr Thompson’s widow spoke to NBC News after his killing, saying: “I don’t know details. I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him.”

Police called the hit a ‘brazen, targeted attack’.
While the gunman has not yet been found, a security expert has stated that they likely were not a professional hitman.
Speaking to LADbible, expert Will Geddes said: “There’s a couple of things which indicate that it wasn’t a highly professional job.
“The assassin left some forensic treasure, he left a candy wrapper, a phone and a water bottle, which the police are attributing to the assassin.
“If you were an assassin, you wouldn’t leave any kind of evidence that could be taken off or associated to you.”
He went on to say that a professional killer would ‘walk up right close behind him, probably put the end of the barrel to the bottom of the skull and pull the trigger’.
“He discharged three shots into the principal, into the target.
“There was no head shot. If you are a professional you’re being paid for this task, it would be a clean headshot, at least one to make sure that the target was dead.”
