Scarlett Johansson recently went on the cutest blind date — with a 12-year-old pittie named Ocean. Scarlett loves animals. She was thrilled to give a shelter dog a special day filled with love and pampering.
Ocean, a pittie mix, had been rescued from an overcrowded shelter in New York by Muddy Paws Rescue. She was a sweet, single mom looking for a forever home. On their date, Scarlett treated Ocean to a spa day. It was finished with a dog-friendly smoothie, a mani-pedi, and tons of snuggles.
The date started with a bit of nervous excitement. Scarlett brought a bouquet of stuffed red roses, which Ocean happily destroyed after falling in love with it. “We were both a little shy at first,” Scarlett said. “But Ocean warmed up almost instantly, and we’re getting to know each other.”
This heartwarming meet-up is part of a video series. In this series, celebrities go on blind dates with rescue dogs to help them find homes. Scarlett hoped her time with Ocean would be just as successful as other dates in the series.
As the date continued, Scarlett felt a deep connection with Ocean. “I don’t think you’ll have any trouble finding a forever home.” She said this as Ocean greeted her with a wagging tail and puppy kisses.
Ocean even got to visit Scarlett’s skincare line office, The Outset, where she tried out some hydrating, dog-safe products. The pampering continued with a “cucumbers on the eyes” moment. Ocean had her own ideas of what to do with the cucumbers!
By the end of the date, Scarlett was surprised Ocean hadn’t already been adopted. “You’re so adorable and cuddly — exactly what everyone’s looking for!” Scarlett said.
And Scarlett was right! Shortly after their date, Ocean found her forever home. This proves once again that love and a little kindness can change everything.
