The news, which broke on October 1, stated that the Roots and Good Times star had passed away on August 21 from natural causes. This occurred in Los Angeles at the age of 84.
The heartbreaking revelation came after John Amos’ son, Kelly Christopher “K.C.” Amos, released a statement confirming his father’s death. “It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,” K.C. wrote. “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over.”
