Grace, a 12-year-old senior dog, proves that love is something you feel, even if you can’t see it. Diagnosed with a painful eye condition, Grace lost her vision a few years ago. To keep her pain-free, vets recommended removing both of her eyes. Despite the loss of sight, Grace never lost her way when it came to following her heart.

Special Bond Between Grace and Her Grandma

Grace has always adored her owner, Shelby Salmela, but her connection with Salmela’s mother—Grace’s grandma—has been something extra special. Even after her surgery, Grace’s excitement hasn’t faded. When Grandma comes to visit, Grace’s heart guides her right into her arms.

Love That Needs No Sight

Though Grace can no longer see, her reaction to her grandma’s visits is nothing short of heartwarming. As soon as Grace senses Grandma’s presence, she becomes visibly excited. “It’s so cute to see. Grace gets excited when she realizes that the person at the door is her GG,” Shelby said.
